The Orlando attacks

The Orlando attacks

The night of 11 to 12 June 2016, a terrorist attack happened in the Pulse (a gay nightclub) in Orlando, in the United States. Approximately 350 people were in the nightclub (a place very frequent by the LGBT community) at the time of the attack.

At two am, Omar Mateen, an american security guard, comes in the nightclub with an assault rifle and a Glock and starts the shooting. The nightclub post then a message on Facebook " Everyone get out of the Pulse and keep running ".

At five am, the intervention group SWAT arrive. The shooting becomes then an hostage. After, the police enter in the nightclub by thee wall of the toilets and save the hostages and cut down the killer.

49 people were killed and 53 were wounded. This attack were one of the most serious crimes in the United States.

I'm not a fervent activist to the LGBT community but I'm touched by this because we haven't talked about this as we should have. Yes many people are killed for what they defend or their ideas but I realize that, now, people can be able to kill someone for what it is. This attack is just a hate crimes. And we haven't see in social networks #I'm Gay because many people arae homophobic

Homophobic message

Even if I'm not the first to advocate rights of LGBT or anything other concerning the LGBT community, I'm very touched by this attack because this is my community.
